A colourful urban wedding at the Manchester Cathedral and Victoria Warehouse.
I met Sarah and Leon at a Wedding Open in Victoria Warehouse, and they told me about their plans to have a tropical themed Manchester wedding. I instantly had a vision of how this unique #weddingstationery would look for an urban Manchester wedding with colour tones.
The wedding day took place at the beautiful Manchester Cathedral with an evening reception at the iconic and industrial Victoria Warehouse. I created a bespoke tropical set of stationery designs with the wedding venues illustrated.
Researching tropical flowers and plants before sketching and creating a final design of illustrated tropical palms, bright hibiscus flowers, anthuriums, monstera leaves and more. The design was created to be dark, industrial and urban, with contrasting luxurious plants and copper foil details which would really stand out.

The design and style was used across the full wedding set, from the save the dates through to the invitation set, which included a day and evening invitations with information and rsvp cards, wrapped with bellybands, attached with personalised stickers and envelopes lined in tropical prints. I also designed a unique map which included the venues and local places to stay, which was finished in copper foil.
For the wedding day, they named the tables after their favourite bands and I produced a set of imitation record vinyl covers for the table names, which looked absolutely incredible within the table centre pieces.

The seating plan, with an array of tropical plants and band names looked like it belonged in a festival, which showcased the various stages and acts. Other matching pieces included a mounted welcome sign, place name cards and a foiled guestbook all designed to match the set.

After the wedding I was asked to produce a set of copper foiled thank you postcards, which included a collage of the wedding photography produced by Steven Rooney with a continuation of the tropical design on the back.
I really enjoyed creating this set of designs, especially as I have a huge monstera plant in my home and is my absolute favourite plant! It was great to see how it all came to life on the day and to receive such good feedback from them both made it even better.
